So, when we were invited to the Barry Town Football Clubhouse recently, we were more than ready to bring our A-game. With sixty hungry guests to feed and a custom menu on the cards, we knew we had a brilliant evening ahead.
Rob and James, our catering dream team, rolled up their sleeves and got straight to work on a glorious hog roast – crackling included. Paired with our homemade sage and onion stuffing, sweet applesauce, and a mix of gluten-free and wholemeal rolls it was the kind of sandwich lineup that stops conversations mid-sentence.
But a Hog Roast Barry feast is never just about the hog. Oh no. On the side, we had tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad for the sensible ones, gourmet coleslaw for pure indulgence, herb-dressed new potatoes that kept vanishing, and a glorious mountain of sweet potato and classic fries with salt, vinegar and sauce options. Corn cobettes arrived dripping in melted butter and disappeared in minutes. We also rolled out 100% British beef burgers – handmade, juicy, topped with melting cheese and fried onions. Those were a definite crowd-pleaser. Honestly, you could hear the contentment buzzing throughout the room.
Our vegetarian and vegan friends were far from forgotten, either. Grilled vegetable kebabs (with optional halloumi), flatbreads, and tzatziki dip made sure everyone had something delicious on their plates.
And to round things off? Dessert, of course. Individual cheesecakes with silky filling and buttery bases, plus rich chocolate tortes that didn’t need any introduction. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, Hog Roast Barry has you covered!
