Hog Roast Newbridge Gets Into The Holiday Spirit

Are you in the Christmas spirit yet? It seems that November 1st hit, and the country’s Christmas countdown began. The switch from Halloween to Christmas in the stores, adverts on TV and Garden centres in particular caught us all by surprise. Hog Roast Newbridge does love Christmas, their countdown begins with the Christmas bookings which have started to come in. The one that they were really excited for happened last Friday. Despite the miserable weather, it turned out to be a memorable evening. Hog Roast Newbridge had been asked to cater at their local light switch on, they would be one of three food options, but the only savoury one.

The fun started at from 4pm, the street was filled with funfair rides and local business craft stalls. There was a magical Santa’s grotto with a real reindeer to pet and feed. You could have a Christmas story read by elves at the hour and a tepee tent had been set up for the children to make their own reindeer food and write their letters to Santa. It was all very festive, and the atmosphere was terrific.

Hog Roast NewbridgeTo feed the amount that could potentially attend the local event, Cherie the event organiser had opted for a whole roasted pig over the typical festive meat Turkey. Cherie did add on pigs in the blanket as a side option to make it more Christmassy. The tender pulled pork topped with sage and onion stuffing and served in soft baps were a hit with the crowd, but the pigs in blankets won the show. Hog Roast Newbridge’S catering manager Brad had got his pigs in the blankets from his local butcher, as it was their first pig in the blanket order, they had made it rather special. Rather than using small chipolatas, they had used a usual sausage and wrapped that in non-smoked back bacon to make the treat even more amazing! So, people received a mouth-watering hog roast roll with a giant pig in blanket on the side, they were extremely happy!

The event, especially Brad’s food was super successful and easily made people who were trying hard to fight it get into the Christmas spirit.
