So, you’ve booked Hog Roast Denbigh for your event— great choice! Whether it’s for a wedding, birthday, garden party or corporate do, you’re in for something special. And if you’re wondering how it all works behind the scenes or what the day will look like, you’re not alone. It’s one of the questions we get asked most. So, we thought we’d break it down with a little step-by-step of what to expect with Hog Roast Denbigh.
First thing’s first is that Hog Roast Denbigh arrive early (approximately 6 hours beforehand) to get the hog roast machine set-up and running. Why so early? Because a traditional hog roast takes that amount of time to achieve the perfect tender bite with crispy crackling. That slow, gentle roasting is what gives the meat its incredible flavour and texture. We’ll come equipped with everything we need: the hog roast machine, gas, serving tables, prep gear, and of course, the hog itself. And as we’re self-contained, no kitchen is needed.
Once we’re set up, it’s time to get the hog on the spit and start the slow roasting process. This is where the magic begins. While the hog is doing its thing, we’ll start preparing the rest of the menu, whether that be the sides, the sauces or of course, the vegan or vegetarian options. We aim to cater for everyone, so be sure to tell your chef in the months or weeks beforehand is anyone has any specific dietary needs, and we can accommodate.
Once the hog is cooked to perfection, we begin carving. This is often the moment guests gather around for a look (and a quick photo!). We serve your guests on their behalf, building generous pork rolls with all the trimmings. If you’ve chosen sides or a buffet-style setup, we’ll guide guests through the options so they can build their plate. It’s up to you which option to go for!
After everyone’s had their fill and the plates are cleared, we don’t just pack up and leave a mess behind. We take care of all the cleaning and waste removal leaving your space exactly as we found it.
