We’re not quite built for it ourselves, but here at Hog Roast Crumlin we cannot help get into the rugby fever as the Six Nations gets underway. That fever wasn’t helped by the call we received last month asking if we’d be able to come out this past weekend to provide catering to a local rugby tournament. After a brief heart attack from Our Catering Manager thinking he was being asked to get his dusty old rugby boots back out, we were of course more than happy to oblige when he realised we’d be well away from the field and just sticking to the kitchen like we (probably) should!
We knew we were going to need be at the top of our game at this event with just how much food was going to be needed to properly feed a whole host of local rugby teams. After a tiring and well fought day out in the fields they were certainly more than ready to eat! Thankfully our hog roasts are just the tonic for these kind of conditions, and with a few cooking all at once on our exquisite Hogmaster machines we were more than equipped to do the business. Those meaty roasts went down a treat and were the perfect accompaniment as the players recovered and enjoyed some of the Six Nations action on the TVs in the afternoon together, many of them coming back in for seconds and even thirds as the prestigious top level rugby tournament got underway. In the breaks Our Catering Manager and some of the serving team even tried their hand at kicking between the posts at the behest of the event organiser. Based on their attempts however, it’s probably better that Hog Roast Crumlin sticks to the catering business in future!
