Generally when Hog Roast Llantrisant gets called for anniversary dining it tends to be for long-time couples, or even businesses who wish to show gratitude to a long serving employee. But it was lovely when we received a call the other month from Mark who wanted to show his tight knit group of friends what they meant to him by enjoying a catered meal on the anniversary of the first time they all met.
Having met at university, Mark and co have been heading to the pub, getting some golf in on the links, and just generally enjoying each other’s company for 20 years now. To celebrate that fact Hog Roast Llantrisant delivered our classic hog roast menu for a classic group of old buddies. Having headed away for a weekend, partaken in some of their favourite activities again, the group of 8 were ready to close out their celebration with some drinks and some food. Little did the rest of them know that the Hog Roast Llantrisant team was waiting in the wings to bring out our esteemed hog roast, courtesy of Mark!
After a day of golf and boozing it was certainly a welcome treat! Our hog roast helping to reinvigorate the group as the reminisced over all the good times they’ve had in the last 20 years. One hog roast is enough to feed a lot of guests, so the party of 8 certainly had their hands full with our crisp golden pork roast, and that’s not even to mention its accompaniments of freshly made apple sauce, our homemade sage and onion stuffing, the traditional bubbling crackling, and then the side dishes of herb dressed new potatoes, a Greek salad, homemade coleslaw, and a tomato and mozzarella salad.
Mark, knowing how much he and his buddies like to drink (even if they’ve had to slow down a little in their older years) also added a side order of fries and a drinks package that meant the Hog Roast Llantrisant would keep their glasses topped up with some excellent vintage champagne! What better a way to celebrate 20 years of friendship!
