Finding out the gender of your baby is extremely exciting and a moment you will never forget! Learning your baby’s gender at a reveal party adds so much fun to the surprise, whether you are finding out by bursting a balloon or revealing the inside of a cake pop. Last weekend, Hog Roast Hay on Wye catered at a gender reveal party for Amy and Louie, who are getting ready to welcome their newborn into the world in 4 months time. The parents-to-be had decided to keep their baby’s gender a secret, even to themselves, and instead, have it announced in front of their nearest and dearest.
It is not quite warm enough for a full-on garden party just yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take your celebrations outside. Our team are able to cook and serve under gazebos, or even cook under our gazebos and serve indoors if required. This suited Amy and Louie as the pair had decided to get messy with their reveal and so preferred to utilise their outdoor space.
For their reveal, they attached balloons to a dart board and filled them with paint to reveal their baby’s gender. After a few missed attempts, the dart finally sunk into the balloon, exploding with blue paint announcing a baby boy!
Amy and Louie’s guests enjoyed our gourmet BBQ menu. The menu’s main attraction was a selection of meats grilled to absolute perfection. From our gorgeous British beef burgers and the gourmet sausages to the chicken kebabs and marinated spareribs. To make sure everyone is included, we dished up grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers for the non-meat eaters. All of which was served alongside freshly made crunchy coleslaw, a mixture of sweet potato and regular fries, and a Greek salad.
